The Gabriola Arts Council is hosting their big 3rd annual fundraising gala on January 28th 2017 at the Gabriola Community Hall. Tempest in a Tecup: The China Affair features 40 works of art from Gabriolan artists who have been inspired by a piece of china, the traditional 20th anniversary item, in honour of the Gabriola Arts Council’s 20th anniversary!
Hosted by beauty and the beast Lu Handford and Chris Straw, this lovely evening out is packed with activities and entertainment! First and foremost, come to see what the artists have created, then bid on their work through the live and silent art auction. Groove to great music from Mad For Joy. Taste delicious hor d’oeuvres from Robert’s Place, The Kitchen, and Mad Rona’s. And have fun with raffle baskets, a 50/50, a cash bar, and a fun photo shoot by Bill Pope and Barb Dow. Dress to Impress! All funds raised will support arts and culture on Gabriola. The artwork is on display in the Folklife Village up until the event.
The Chair Affair and the Atlas Affair the last two years were a great time and we plan to continue that tradition! Join the fun on January 28th at 7pm at the Community Hall! Tickets are $15 in advance at North Road Sports or online. Only 250 tickets available. It sold out the last two years, so don’t be disappointed, and get yours early!
