Frost(y) Moon Holiday Light Up and Singalong

We were going to have a Frost Moon Holiday Light Up and Singalong on December 7th, but the power outages foiled our plans, so we’ve rescheduled for Wednesday December 14th for a Frost(y) Moon instead.

Join us at the Gabriola Arts Council property to witness the lighting of the Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre, projections by Larry Walske, bonfires, hot chocolate and a singalong led by Nicole Poynter.

Celebrating the light of the season with many thanks to a major sponsorship by Tina & Guy.

The event begins at 4pm and you’ll be home in time for dinner. Bundle up, bring your cup and enjoy some time with community. The parking lot will be blocked off for the event, so please find parking in the surrounding areas. We’re only a short walk from many great spots to park your vehicle.

Together we cultivate the arts!

Triumph: Celebration for Nesters and Island Pharmacy staff

The Triumph grant is in full swing with the first community celebration honouring the staff at Nesters and Island Pharmacy for all they went through for us during the darkest two years of the pandemic. Their worlds were turned upside down in very different ways and they were navigating new rules at a fast pace in order to serve community.

We’re celebrating them with a big outdoor party at the Commons. A lantern parade, an 80s dance party with DJ Tim G, juggling, flow dancing, face painting, food, drinks and a time to relax. A time to be appreciated by community for coming through for us during a difficult time.

Workshops are Monday August 15 – Thursday August 18 from 5:30-8:30pm at the Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre. You can register to build a lantern at and you can find out more about the celebration.

The celebration is Saturday August 20th at the Gabriola Commons from 7-10pm.
