The fibreshed movement recognizes the ecological and human costs associated with fast fashion and fast craft, and promotes the use of local materials that connect farmers, producers, and consumers. In this workshop you will learn about connecting to our fibreshed and what materials to consider in functional and craft textile creation. Hands-on learning includes processing wool, making a drop spindle, and spinning yarn.
Materials to bring: Rubber gloves. Any wool or linen processing equipment they have. Clothing that can get a bit dirty and wet. Any personally-made item made from locally farmed or foraged materials for show-and-tell/discussion.
