How it works: Everyone must take the Orientation Course which is free of charge, but if you are an experienced user, you can challenge the course with Jules Molloy, GAC Media Creative Director (jules@artsgabriola.ca). The Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre can also be booked as a studio where equipment from the portal will allow a user to capture an interview, a short, a scene, a photoshoot, or other creative endeavour.
Free Orientation Class – to familiarize potential users with all of the equipment. 5 hours of training (in two 2.5hr sessions) will give the participants a good understanding of everything from the Canon digital cameras down to the tripods and more. This class is for videographers and photographers too.
