That’s a wrap on Isle of the Arts 2026!
This year’s festival, IoTA 2026: Weaving a Story, invited us to reflect on who makes stories across space and time — and how, together, we interweave our voices, skills, and perspectives to create something stronger as a community.
Inspired by this year’s One Book, One Community selection, The Teachings of Mutton: A Coast Salish Woolly Dog, the festival celebrated connection, creativity, and shared learning.
Across nearly 30 workshops and events, participants explored fibre arts, song, storytelling, sound, painting, pottery, cooking, dance, bookbinding, leatherwork, professional development opportunities, and youth programming — each offering another thread woven into this year’s vibrant tapestry.
Thank you to the artists, facilitators, Elders, volunteers, partners, and community members who brought IoTA 2026 to life. A special thanks to our IoTA photographer, Corinne Flaws, for capturing many of our workshops and events (see gallery below). The richness of the festival comes from what each of you contributes.
