The Arty Award is given to a community member or organization who has made an outstanding contribution to the arts and culture of Gabriola during the previous year.

how the trophy has evolved
It started as a humble hodge-podge of basic materials. A plastic garden pot, a plastic bowl, and no embelishments whatsoever. A year later she returned it with a few embelishments – that’s an artists touch!
Since the first year, each Arty Award recipient adds their own mark to the trophy. With touches of music, theatre, pottery, painting and more – The trophy has truly come to life!
