Have you ever wanted to play a role in shaping the Gabriola Arts Council? This is your chance!
We are currently recruiting committed, connected, and dynamic individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members provide strategic leadership and direction in service to Gabriola Arts Council’s mission. They approve and oversee the strategic plan, assure financial health, provide fundraising leadership, and enhance the organization’s public image. Members will serve as ambassadors for GAC, creating opportunities and nurturing relations in support of our strategic objectives.
Your Gabriola Arts Council’s (GAC’s) mission is to engage, enhance, and inspire the community’s cultural vitality through collaboration, leadership, and service. Your council works with local arts and community organizations, and public and private partners, to deliver high-quality and essential arts programming on Gabriola. We value a vibrant arts and cultural community contributing to the development of a healthy and engaged society.
If you are passionate about the arts in your community and would like to contribute to the financial stewardship, governance, ongoing vibrant arts and cultural conversations, fundraising, donor relations, stakeholder development, then we want to hear from you!
Your commitment is a monthly meeting and an average of 10 hours a month of committee work and volunteerism for events and programs, as this is a working board. You are not assigned a committee, you chose the work you wish to engage in and volunteer at events that fit your values. You will work with the Executive Director to fulfill GAC’s mission and mandate.
