Marylyn has been an avid basket maker since 2002, a watercolourist since the 1980's, and has recently published her first novel.
Her baskets include natural materials, most of which she has hand gathered and prepared, and each basket is unique in its shape, colour and design. From whimsical, to functional, to imaginative, to outrageous - every basket is made with patience and love.
Marylyn's watercolours radiate with colour - from soft, delicate and transparent to luscious, rich and vibrant. Flowers, people and boats are featured in many of her paintings.
Her recent novel, "Wives and Mothers" is an historical creative non-fiction, tracing her family's transition from England to Canada, spanning a 3 generation timeline, from 1875 in Lancashire and Northumberland to the 1940's in Powell River, BC. It quickly captures the imagination of anyone whose roots stretch across the waters to England.
