From producing plays in abandoned theatres during the Second World War, to working as Laurence Olivier’s vice principle, to launching Studio 58—Vancouver’s elite theatre school—Antony Holland is one of Canada’s theatre treasures. He continues to act, write and direct, and he is one of the most talented and prolific stage icons to have graced our Festival and the world’s stage. This great time of a celebration will showcase the Ken Capon Memorial Marching Band with a through-the-decades performance, dedications from Antony’s colleagues and students, and witnessing the cutting of the ribbon as we dedicate the Gabriola Theatre Festival’s Main Stage in Antony Holland’s name. Gabriola Island has had the gift of Antony for more than 20 years, and the Gabriola Theatre Festival would like to express its gratitude.
Don’t miss this heart-felt dedication ceremony!
