APPLICATION CALL EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 10!
Our beloved ShelterLogic Tent, used to store many of our festival supplies and equipment, has seen better days. The frame is in great shape, but the cover has become threadbare on the side of the tent that gets the most weather.Â
Last fall, GAC applied for and received an Arts Infrastructure Grant from the BC Arts Council to replace the cover of our tent with a heavier duty version that is warrantied to last until 2040!Â
The new cover is set to arrive at the beginning of September, and once it has landed, we need two pairs of capable hands who can help us get the current cover off of our tent frame and secure the new cover on!Â
Compensation:Â GAC can offer a team of two $50/hr per person for up to 8 hours each for this task. If the cover replacement takes less than 2 hours, each person will be paid for a minimum of 2 hours.Â
Timeline: The cover replacement will occur once the new cover has arrived, in one day, during fair weather. The project date will be determined by GAC’s Program Manager, the successful candidates, and the weather forecast 🤣 The Program Manager will be available to assist if needed.Â
Applications: Please apply INDIVIDUALLY OR AS A TEAM, with three examples of previously completed similar work (written descriptions and, if possible, images) and references for each project (name and phone number), emailed by 5:00 pm on September 10, 2025 to info@artsgabriola.ca with subject heading: TENT MAKEOVER.Â
Gabriola Arts Council encourages applications from members of groups that have been marginalized on any grounds, including sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, racial inaction disability, political belief, religion, marital or family status, and/or status as a First Nation or Indigenous person.
